The Vice-President of the Brazilian Academy of Nursing History (ABRADHENF), Prof. Dr. Gilberto Tadeu, held a strategic meeting on January 24 at the headquarters of the Regional Nursing Council of Bahia (Coren-BA), in Salvador.
The objective of the meeting was to discuss the organization of the 7th Colloquium of the Brazilian Academy of Nursing History (ABRADHENF) and the 2nd International Seminar on the History of Nursing, which will be held in the capital of Bahia on April 14 and 15 of this year.
Prof. Gilberto Tadeu highlighted the importance of the event as a fundamental space for valuing the identity and trajectory of nursing in Brazil and for strengthening the historical memory of the profession.
"The history of Brazilian nursing is rich and deserves to be widely disseminated. The symposium is an opportunity for us to reflect on the advancements of the profession and ensure that future generations understand the legacy built up to now", highlighted the Vice-President of ABRADHENF. Gilberto Tadeu was welcomed by the General Coordinator of the Technical Chambers, Cássia Menaia, and then met with the President of Coren-BA, Nurse Davi Apóstolo, who emphasized the importance of the partnership with ABRADHENF for the success of the event. Ms. Rebeca Melo, Technical Advisor to the Office of the President of Coren-BA, also participated in the meeting. The symposium will also be held to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the Brazilian Academy of Nursing History and, by being held in Salvador together with the Postgraduate Program in Nursing and Health of the School of Nursing of the Federal University of Bahia, it gains even more academic support, reinforcing the dissemination of knowledge about the history of nursing and the projection of future professional perspectives.
